What It’s About

A few weeks ago, I shared the blurb for this wonderful book on my blog. In case you missed that, I’ve included it below.

Note: If you’ve not finished Convergence of Connection, the blurb will be a bit of a spoiler.

The Great Wielders have succeeded.

The Idol is gone, the Goddess of Connection has returned, and magic is restored. Every living being now has a bond with an Elemental God. All is as it should be, but not all are pleased.

Aggressors are terrorizing the kingdom, spreading lies, instilling fear, and criminalizing the use of magic. But a resistance is forming. One that’s stronger, and wider-reaching, than the aggressor’s know.

The Great Wielders work with the crown to secure allies and support the resistance. Everyone has a part to play, but Jaslan’s strange new ability adds more questions to the mix. While Jack embraces his new role, he supports her need to return to the Forgotten Mountain. There, they seek out answers to their questions—and get a hint to ending the aggression for good.

The aggressor’s leadership will stop at nothing to get the justice they desire, even if it means ripping families apart. Even if it means holding an entire city captive. But when factions collide, truths are revealed—and justice is finally served.

Additional Insights

Earlier this morning (yes, I know it’s still really early), I published a blog post offering some additional insights to After the Awakening. I do this with every book I publish, but this one was particularly challenging for a number of reasons.

I go into more detail about that in the blog, but to summarize, this book became so much more than just its outline. It speaks to the emotionally-charged atmosphere of our society today, but in a way that is wholly unique to the magic system of this fantasy world. From the attitudes of the antagonists to the fears of everyday citizens, and the fight for what is right and true… I don’t think I’ve ever written something so apropos to the times.

Ultimately, After the Awakening is a story about truth, strength, resilience, and hope for a better future for everyone. And because of that, it just might be the most relatable book of the whole series.

Gods know we could all use a bit of hope these days.

For those of you who have been with me on this journey from the beginning, THANK YOU so, so much for your continued support and encouragement. I couldn’t have done this without you, and I hope After the Awakening is everything you dreamed the ending of this series would be.
